Wait, so "Intellectual Dark Web" is not just a generic term for online conservative dumbasses, but for SPECIFIC online conservative dumbasses? Gotcha.

I suspect they do, and they’re just hoping their audiences don’t. But perhaps I’m overestimating Stefan Molyneux.

It's the last day to pick up We Know The Devil on the Steam Summer Sale! Play if you love watching queer teens make terrible decisions, being vaguely consumed with existential fear in the woods, and the promise of hope. It's at least okay!

I want to talk about how important industrial control is and why the general public is woefully unaware of how they interact with it on a daily basis. This is a thread on SkyTrain, Vancouver's rapid transit system and how safe it is until users circumvent it.

Today’s first world problem is having bought espresso that’s only a couple days old, but needing to open it in two days while it’ll probably still be a bit too fresh for optimal extraction.

Pillars of Eternity hasn’t really grabbed me so far. Is that weird? I certainly hear a lot of people extol its virtues. Maybe my tastes in RPGs have been shifting.

All right, informal resolution: from this point forward I’ll buy games I’m genuinely excited about instead of games I’m not especially excited about but that are on sale. I’m tired of having a game library full of dead weight.

I have a sneaking suspicion I’d actually end up spending less on games that way, even if I paid more for each game.

Society's taught me to feel like a sucker if I paid more than I had to for something, rather than to feel good that I'm supporting something I like.

I think I'd almost be better off with fewer games that I paid more for and am actually invested in, than in a million games I essentially bought in bulk and will never get around to playing.

I think constant Steam sales and bundles are bad for gaming. I always get a little twinge when something I paid full price for goes on a ridiculous sale shortly afterward, and it makes me not want to buy things unless they're already insanely cheap.
