Few years ago, YouTube started to put up some measures against false copyright striking, and we saw some shady indie game dev going for trademark false striking instead to silence a critic (Jim Sterling). The same strategy is being used here, except using privacy striking instead

It's just a strategy to avoid the measures YouTube has against false flagging for copyright. There's been no measures for the others so far because of how much rarer their abuse have been

I need a platform I can watch people’s content on without giving a thing to YouTube. As long as the videos aren’t hosted by YouTube I’ll take the time to go to individual content creator’s websites.
