    We astronomers have noticed. Starlink have been working with us - but only after they had already launched and we complained. They'd take away humanity's night sky without a thought to how tragic that is. As a radio astronomer, I'm still worried.

    Not a good deal: says the corrupt Arms Deal caused a million job losses & cost up to R142 billion. That would be enough to pay SA’s Covid grants for more than 3 years! Just a few politicians, middlemen & European corporations got rich.

    Am very, very ready for the deep learning hype curve to start dying down. 😅 *So much* business value can be claimed with basic statistics, exploratory data analysis, and traditional machine learning–and those techniques require just a fraction of the time and complexity of DL.

    Went to a new "local market" grocery store in Somerset West. Nice foods, good selection of Mediteranean foods. It's called Porra Grocer. I just looked up what Porra in Portuguese means...
