Theater criticism aside, the big news from last night's debate was Warren's full-on embrace of single-payer – something I'm fine with on the merits, but consider a very hard policy to pursue given political realities 1/https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/21/opinion/medicare-for-all-democrats.html …

After the ACA results, single payer is much less attractive.

Warren bought a calculator and a comb and made Sanders, as yet, undefined hashtags without price tags more viable. She is a wonk while Sanders is simply screaming the same talking points from the sidelines. It also helps that her colleagues generally like her unlike Sanders.

Having proposed the League of Nations a century ago, in terms of providing health care for it's citizens, would it not be time for America to join it?

Baker worked for Weld (& Healey) and they are close. And both extremely well liked in Massachusetts. Even more than Warren.

Government run healthcare would be a disaster especially with an administration like Trump's gets in again. I am all for government paying for healthcare with private companies managing it. I would also like to see employer provided healthcare disappear completely.

Americans like choice. I think a majority would get behind free healthcare that was guaranteed to be high quality (to combat very real fears of long waits, limited access & inferior care). If we require Congress to use the free option, it’ll be good enough for all of us.
