Just a reminder that if you have any architecture lovers on your holiday list, there is a simple, inexpensive gift that always does the trick:

Great news about , whose name has become synonymous with building ballparks well. She knows how to update them while deepening the connection to their heritage. Congratulations!

A fascinating project but the news release doesn’t really explain it. It made me want to know specifically how places retain the memory he talks about. Is he trying to argue that it is inherent in form? If so, how? Yes, memory and history aren’t the same, but how do they differ?

If they believe the election was fraudulent and should be overturned, how can they also believe their own elections (some in the very states whose results they are questioning) are legal and that they should be seated in the new congress?

Requiring parking is the most indefensible provision imaginable for new building in a dense, transit oriented city—but it should also be the easiest to remedy.

The cynical brilliance of the phrase “pro-life” never ceases to amaze me.

Opposition to "judicial activism" got going as a way for Republicans to slow down progress (especially on civil rights) without seeming awful. Here we are at the awful dead end of that process--a decadent GOP unabashedly demanding judicial activism to subvert a national election.

Great news. Emily Roebling deserves to be honored with a public space in her name. And where better than in Brooklyn Bridge Park, a great addition to the public realm that celebrates the urbanism that the bridge itself helped to enable.

Absolutely. This is excellent news, and will help fulfill an urgent need.

Why is the so-called “base” treated like a deadly monster that must be fed constantly, lest it anger and devour us all?

Yes, alas now subsumed into a super tall of billionaire’s row.

This is a wonderful move—congratulations. And how great to be able to add to a historic name rather than take it away.

I would never disagree with you on either sports or politics. On architecture, however, I beg to differ. There are a lot of issues with 432 Park, but it definitely doesn’t look like the flimsy, quick and cheap building your father was calling out in Florida.

At last, a name change that represents addition and not subtraction. UCBerkeley has found a wonderful way to honor Catherine Bauer Wurster, whose name should have been up there with her husband’s all along.

It was wonderful to think of the possibility of its coming to Sag Harbor on LI, but the truth is that no one can deny the fundamental rightness of a Louis Kahn design ending up in Philadelphia. It’s the natural place for all things Kahn, as explains.

I am not going to comment since I share your general view about the state of things and I don’t want to say anything that could be taken out of context and appear too forgiving of the income inequality that is the bane of this country’s existence right now.
