I'm not 100% sure of this, but I'm hopeful that rather than being the new normal, trolling will be cured by a new generation of social apps.

I was thinking the same. Also, use of one’s real name and a public view of all of their public comments might deter too.

I think people who take words lightly are d ones prone to troll. If their comments r public, it might make them think twice b4 commenting.
