Maybe industrial espionage hasn't been a thing for a while because cutting edge tech hasn't been that important to the economy for some time

It has become less of a thing as IP has switched from e.g. chemical formulas to code. Most code is not much use without the authors.

As the stakes in software got higher, we got the GS HFT lawsuit, & the Uber/Waymo lawsuit. And article says in 2015 cases were all time high
