Simply not true. Uber succeeds by exploiting its drivers so it can afford to undercut its competitors, and by bamboozling the public.

Traditional taxi companies in Norway (where Uber is illegal) have ordering and tracking apps, precomputed and prepaid fares, etc.

They are expensive, but that is due to false scarcity (limited number of taxi licenses), not due to their business model, and easily solved.
