Last night overheard the boys talking in bed. The 8 yo was teaching the 5 yo how to multiply by 5 (divide by 2 then multiply by 10).

You have forgotten being a 5 yo child. The 8 yo hasn't. Halving 6 to get 3 results is a friend. 60 is a horrible unfamiliar monster.
There is something in this actually. Now that I think of it, the 8 yo was teaching halving using fingers.
