I don't see how that's an incentive. It takes effort to make something non-readable. You'd arguably only do that for some payoff.
That payoff could be as simple as "my peers use more specific language and I should too"
Readable by who? The goal is to share with peers in a subfield. There are other channels sharing with the public. #actuallivingscientist
