I block people for malice or intellectual dishonesty, but in practice the two so rarely occur separately that they're almost the same thing.

The phrase "fired for supporting a different candidate" there pretty much embodies the concept of intellectual dishonesty.
Fire is the verb we used internally when talking about it, and the candidate was the one nominated by the other of the two main parties.
