It used to be. When I moved to SV in 2006, one of the things I liked about it was that it was so apolitical compared to Cambridge.

Would your definition of apolitical be that inflammatory culture-damaging political screeds are ignored?

It's political when a statement of facts is derided as an inflammatory screed. If it's culture-damaging, so much the worse for that culture.
