There are a lot of ways powerful people get treated unfairly. The unfairness may not *damage* them as much, but that's a separate question.

I think the magnitude of unfairness is proportional to the damage it does. (This, I suppose, is just semantics.)

When one says e.g. "you've unfairly mischaracterized what I said" it is surely a claim about the degree of dishonesty, not resulting damage.
