Listen to the weak who say the world has treated them unfairly, but be skeptical of powerful people who say the same thing.

I think the magnitude of unfairness is proportional to the damage it does. (This, I suppose, is just semantics.)

When one says e.g. "you've unfairly mischaracterized what I said" it is surely a claim about the degree of dishonesty, not resulting damage.
