A reason might be the average income and how little difference there is between top and bottom.
One thing that struck me about Norway was that no one seemed either arrogant or subservient. Made me realize how many in the US do.

Also noticeable when travelling back and forth between Australia and the US. Especially when talking with people in service jobs.

This is a direct result of sensible tax and employment laws which lead to greater equality and job security. You should support such laws.
