You’re on the right track. Health care is a uniquely uncompetitive market. When has the government ever been able to mandate competition?

Yeah, for mega-companies that don't pay taxes but do pay healthcare. Govt must eliminate monopsony, cost-shifting, not tax anew with an ACA

1. I have been in Payroll support for over 30 yrs. Healthcare costs have always been a problem that just keeps getting kicked down the road.
-
2. 30 yrs. ago, fringe benefits for our teacher aides were 43% of their pay, largely because of healthcare costs. As costs rose pay dropped.
-
3. Much of the rise was invisible because employers absorbed it. + as costs increased healthy people dropped coverage. None of this is new.
