As someone who now works in public radio, I can tell you most of us try very hard to present the views, concerns of working class Americans
Also goes back to evolutionary biology, you trust your tribe and are more likely to adopt their values/ideas & resist opposition
To suggest that any of us "despise" coal miners, truckers, farmers, steelworkers, etc. is the sort of stereotyping that leads to madness
