@paulg Do you have any tips for an average high school developer, becoming a great developer? Is there anything needed more than practice?
Practice is key. The way to get it is to work on super-engaging projects though, not to do it from a sense of duty.

Lack of engagement / focus is one reason why I can't work for someone. If the project is not engaging, I put no effort and lack focus
