wasn't a Milo fan who shot a student the other day at UW? Not sure this is still just free speech.

Every nut like that presumably has heroes. That doesn't mean they're to blame for what he does.

there is a very fine line there. When judging freedom of speech, we often need to assess intent.

Gentleman, although unrelated but what do you think of this perspective?pic.twitter.com/Q2rAIEOQfh

This sort of redefining of words is like something out of 1984. You can argue x is bad without calling it violence.

It's interesting that you point these as Orwellian authoritarianism but I guess understand your reference. Thank you.

@code_sean free speech doesn't mean you have to give someone a platform -
If you're a publicly funded university, yes it does. Even the Berkeley chancellor agrees: http://news.berkeley.edu/2017/01/26/chancellor-statement-on-yiannopoulos/ …pic.twitter.com/vATp3tINDC

Under those rules surely everyone should be able to get an audience? Flat earthers? Area51 UFO nuts?
-
Yup. If a student organization invites them, U.C. Berkeley is bound by the First Amendment to allow it.

Free speech just means we don't arrest the asshole. It doesn't mean a university has to give a platform to crackpots.

You are confusing the First Amendment with free speech.
