Jessica told me this was the 4th post she's written about why she's reluctant to speak out online. The first 3 she didn't publish.

I'm not buying that she really cares about "insider" information spreading. She doesn't even have the courage share what she "knows."
-
If you knew her, you would.
-
Incidentally, your comment is a perfect illustration of the problem she describes.
-
Disagree. Didn't try to missundertand her or make what she said controversial. Cited an inconsistency and its implication.

I've received death and rape threats over things I've written. I'd take simple misinterpretation and critique over that any day.
-
oh and people trying to get me fired from my job. As an H1B, that means I'd have to immediately leave the country. I speak up anyway.
-
If that ever happened we're just down the street and have a robust commitments to free expression, friendly spaces, and H1B lawyers.

This is a huge problem; hope we find a way to address it.

more anonymity needed IMHO… For example a Medium-alike site that is totally focused on anonymous publishing.
-
Sites like reddit and 4chan offer tons of anonymity. You can use pastebin as well. Prob is no one cares about content there
-
Why would anyone want to read business advice from some random anonymous author? People write it for publicity.
-
People want to read it from people are successful.
