oh now you guys can understand exactly what is happening to EU travelers going to US for decades already.

-
generally it is just sad how this can happen at all both ways when traveling.

I was never sent back home, but speaking in the US is equally horrific (I was detained for 3h at SFO for example)

@Medium it's unfortunate that we realize our privilege only when discretionary admission at immigration affects us.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Just remember to always be SUPER plain and simple with border officer anywhere in this world.

I see no difference with US borders. It is always nerve wrecking.

Unfortunately, the US can be equally horrific. It’s sad how outdated rules limit progress and exchange of knowledge.

it’s a surprise for Americans only, I guess. Happens routinely to my friends in Ukraine
-
Do they get sent back?
-
thankfully, no one I know. We usually got visa rejected

This is so crazy. I might be naive but I'm genuinely shocked that this could happen...

I am not surprised by this at all. Unfortunately UK is closing the blinds on the rest of the world. Sad sad sad.

UK immigration has been getting progressively worse over the past five years. We get stopped almost every time.

the decision was very black and white. The blog shows a level of attitude and tiredness. No one wants to be sent home
-
what is your point?
-
a decision was made and it is stated in the blog. Learn from it.
-
I jdon't believe this is a reasonable way for an immigration system to work. Am sure US does same, not reasonable either.
-
what should I learn from it? Don't bother?

@NewtonEmerson@rachelnabors Lesson is prepare. You are not a tourist when travelling for work, don't expect to be treated like one. -
We prepared as best we could given the documentation available.
-
I wasn't there, but if I want travel US for other than tourism, I would speak advance with authorities
-
And how would you contact them?
-
Phone, email, consulate call or through a private sector company that specialises in immigration issues
-
I also advise this.
-
It's the sensible option, which most people take up. It doesn't help to call Border staff racists etc
