I see the line spacing...but inconsistent indentation? Got an example?

I find calls to apply are often most readable when they're indented as if apply and its first argument were a single symbol.

I _think_ he was actually making the opposite argument -- that sometimes breaking indentation rules increases clarity.

Although I am generally inclined to agree with you -- haphazard indentation / code style can read like a ransom note.
