Whats wrong with subscription? I think its the way to go - much simpler.
Too much cognitive load, because they auto-renew and deliberately make it hard to cancel.

Plus it's a form with 23 fields, whereas dumping your NYT cookies is about 6 clicks and 7 chars of typing.

The other big issue is that $10 per month is not enough without ads to support NYT and CNN. We need new, smaller outlets.

Why is $10/m not enough for NYT? They have over 1M subs. $10M/month is a pretty decent revenue. Need efficiency?

I have now tried for over one year to cancel my NYT sub but every 12 wks they offer me to renew the $0.99 offer.
