@paulg Does he know that 25x25 = 625? Not sure when kids normally learn that sort of arithmetic (or whether your kids would be "normal"...).
@cperciva Arithmetic is surprisingly hard for little kids because they don't know the tricks we take for granted.

@paulg Huh. I wonder if having calculators ubiquitously available and instantaneous gets in the way of kids learning those tricks. -
@paulg I taught myself those tricks when I was 3, playing a game called "mash buttons & try to calculate faster than the calculator".
