My kids refer to movies in the present tense (I like that part, not I liked that part) because in the streaming world they're ever-present.

@paulg Have kids have always done this? How the brain separates reality and fiction is interesting. Stories are ever-living for some people.

@paulg or its behavior-related. View movies once (liked), view them more often (like). Older people prob. tend to watch only once.

@paulg More likely because the present tense is the correct one if they still like that part (& they spend a lot of time with educated folk)

@paulg the liking has nothing to do with time. You liked it when you first saw it. But afterwards you still like it now. Present is correct

@paulg ooc, are u sure it´s because of the streaming, did they say so? When I think about it I also refer to parts of books in the present.

@paulg @timoreilly Seems like a stretch. Was it different in other mediums? do not forget our abilities to visualize mentally.

@paulg They’re referring directly to the movie instead of doing it obliquely through the experience of it. @timoreilly

@paulg As you point out, the repetibility of the experience makes its singularity far less significant. @timoreilly
