@paulg It needs MIT & Stanford data, or you're looking at tech vs liberal arts & eastcoast vs west coast.

@paulg found original article. Caltech is NOT allowed to use race as criteria, others DO use race as criteria.http://www.economist.com/news/briefing/21669595-asian-americans-are-united-states-most-successful-minority-they-are-complaining-ever …Thanks. @paulg I'm glad to see the economist is now rewriting old Priceonomics blog postshttp://priceonomics.com/post/48794283011/do-elite-colleges-discriminate-against-asians … -
@rohindhar@paulg I'm glad I snuck into Cornell during the Great Asian Bubble of 94-98.

@paulg What is damning and consequences do you expect? -
@reichenstein@paulg I think it's saying that univs have artificial caps on Asians. Caltech only one that (correctly) rises with population - 1 more reply

@paulg Caltech doubled its Asian population, so did Dartmouth and Princeton. The data is not as clear as the graph wants us to believe.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@paulg is it possible that geographic concentration in school choices has something to do with it? One west coast school vs. rest east coastThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@paulg What do you see here? I'm not sure I see it. -
@samthebrand@paulg Harvard etc have quotas keeping Asians out. -
@workingrob@paulg Could be interpreted that Cal Tech accepts asians at a higher rate than other deserving ethnicities. -
@samthebrand@paulg SAT scores, tonnes of other evidence, suggests otherwise. Asian population doubles, same number admitted? -
@workingrob@paulg Agreed. Just saying the chart isn't conclusive. It's possible all universities were over-admitting prior to 1990. -
@samthebrand Could be, but very very unlikely given other things we know about academic qualifications and science/engineering applications
