@paulg Not a fundamental mistake. Benefits and costs are identified, mediated, and revisited through the legislative process.

@paulg Bigger question is why the worker should be protected at the expense of the consumer.

@paulg That's the next politician's problem. They just want the vote. Short-term vs. long-term thinking.

@paulg Sure. Not having protections just has far worse consequences. Compare VW and the U.S. automakers.
