All progress in tools increases economic inequality. Tools multiply output, and the bottom end of the range is always zero.

@paulg@timoreilly I am with Tim. It's like you are saying poor of today are same 0 they were 500 years ago? No way. They are better "0". -
@alexiskold Who said anything about the poor? Someone who does nothing creates no wealth. Surely that is invariant. -
@paulg I probably misunderstood. I thought you meant that tools widen economic gap, and that I don't agree with.

@paulg@timoreilly Can't you both be right? Tools increase inequality but we can counteract it through choices we make as a society? -
@jspaulding@paulg@timoreilly Missing links, tools increase productivity only. How a society structures & runs itself determines equity etc -
@jspaulding@paulg@timoreilly Ie. Farmers way more productive, but market structure dominated by a few agri-gaints means they are poorer.

@paulg@timoreilly You can prove that inequality is not inevitable simply by giving all of your profits to people with less money.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Capitalism is full of intellectual frauds but no so many of them go so eagerly after (mostly) young (mostly) men as

You are missing quite a few logical connectives.

@paulg@timoreilly yes, but that's only the case because you already live in a society that's made choices to favor unequal outcomesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
