Anyone know why running speeds (http://bit.ly/1scHrHZ ) decline faster than rowing speeds (http://bit.ly/Ztl45R )?

@paulg rowing has a hard displacement hull speed limit, with exponentially decreasing benefit to more power. Cycling, too. Not running.

@paulg from a logical perspective, running depends less on gear and more on your body. The speed of driving declines even less :)

@dbasch @paulg Or stated another way, the machines amplify effort, therefore you lose less time/energy at greater distances. You guys bike?

@paulg most things that have technique are refined as compensation for age. Possibly running is almost pure physical ability.
