Not that you’d steer your kids (I don’t think), but would you rather they became operators or VCs, or maybe operate then become VCs? You had impact as a coder but orders of mag more in your later efforts.
I wouldn't want either of my kids to intend to become VCs. Investing is something you should do, if at all, as a second career after being a maker.

I’d love to hear why you wouldn’t want your kids to follow in your path. As a father, I wouldn’t want my kids to deal with moronic bosses and stress. But I can’t imagine you have those problems

I agree. It’s easier to invest if you have been in the trenches before and understand how a business works with all the ups and downs. The vast part of the investing is betting on the people to actually execute on that vision and make it through all the challenges.
