Files (.psd, .docx, etc) are almost the next floppy disks. Your kids are going to wonder what the heck "files" were.

A basic unit of abstraction that's not relevant to most people. Unix sockets are also a basic unit of abstraction; most people will never know about them.
Sure, it's easy to imagine end users not knowing about files. In fact that's arguably already the case with iOS.

Most probably. If you look at the defi space where in one user transaction, all the hops (conversions) between different currencies is abstracted away.

Yeah, smartphones in particular are designed specifically to frustrate and obstruct a user's attempts to interact with the filesystem directly. Much better to get media onto it via a paid store...

iOS got a little better with Files but it's not easy to drag and drop things on to it locally, like a thumb drive. I wish the iPhone would have a thumbdrive mode.
