I’ll bet they do know but smartly trying to keep themselves in your good graces. This hidden feature of card subscriptions is understandable but still feels insidious. Yet another dark pattern I’m hopeful Stripe can assist with.

@patrickc’s thoughts on cardholder agreements allowing subscriptions past expiration dates (and also even if you order cards with a new number!) -
Patrick says Alpha uses Stripe, which has a feature for this, but that banks handle expirations unpredictably. So presumably Alpha is playing it safe.

This is super-helpful thank you. I was under the impression that this was essentially a default is almost all cardmember agreements now. Worse, customers assume "expiration" date means expiration date.
