random question if you don't mind answering... how do you feel the 4 year age gap has worked out? Wish they had been a bit closer in age or has the 4 year gap had its benefits?
It's more like 3.2, and that seems pretty close to optimal. They're close enough in age that they can play with one another, but not so close that they're rivals.

Two boys, 3.6 year age gap, same experience so far. Most characteristic moment: Big Brother parrying and side-stepping a ferocious and entirely sincere Berserker-style assault from Little Brother with perfect sangfroid. Foam swords, incredible communication tool.

My twin grandsons demonstrate rivalry in every situation. Wonder if it will get worse or better.

Feels like that could really jeopardize the relationship. If they are driven/ambitious, they’ll have enough rivals in their lifes.
