One unexpected upside of the culture war is that it makes kids more eager to learn. Kids love forbidden knowledge, and this has been growing rapidly as more ideas get banned.

Which ideas are “banned” in your opinion? Serious question. A lot of these “banned” ideas are ones I see discussed incessantly on this website and others.

In this day and age there is no banned content. Even if google bans it, theres always Tor.

I’m interested in a kids’ history reading list, for when mine are older. Not like edgy “red pill” stuff, just the stuff that would have been considered neutral in a 1950s elementary school.

Choosing 1950 is an interesting lens (1970 conjures a different set of things, 1990 another set, 2010 is arguably most enlightening). Not _quite_ history, but obviously Huckleberry Finn. I had a (white) teacher read the whole book aloud when I was in 5th grade ~2004. Today? 🤔

Very true. I think science and nature should be shown like they are forbidden from learning and learning them may bring some unexpected changes. Who knows, maybe this curiosity might bring the real change in education... 😉
