A talented friend who comes from a humble background and is starting a startup is surprised at how he's able to rub proverbial elbows with famous SV founders & investors. What makes this place special (despite shortcomings) is the nature of outcomes forces people to status mix.
It's not just the structure of the business. The established people enjoy working with the ones on the way up. Don't you find that yourself now that you're becoming one of the established ones?

I am inclined to agree. I think once you are established, there is a strong want to give back to the community who raised you. Hoping I too can give back in some capacity because I've been so fortunate thus far.
