When people say they're flattered by copycats, or that it validates the market, actually they're annoyed. Copycats suck.

Seems like FB copying stories was highly effective.
-
Product fit, more so than anything else. Stories + instagram was a good fit. Twitter + clubhouse could be an extremely good fit. Linkedin + clubhouse could be an OK fit for different kinds of user.

Doesn't it depend on what they copy ? Many are capable of copying the vector (In which case they forego copying all the points) also making them formidable.
-
The vector (in the entrepreneurial context) is uncopyable — it's emergent, idiosyncratic, and contingent.

Given that Clubhouse itself is just a new name for a conference call, I'd say the "copycats" in that space will actually create the most value.
-
Until anyone, at any moment, can instantly connect with 5 other people to collaborate on a small project to make a difference, social media won't have truly arrived.
