Copying is only flattering if you have a competitive advantage that guaranties the copycats will fail. Otherwise, it’s not just annoying but could be fatal. Just ask Meerkat that pioneered live video only for it to become a checkbox feature or Snapchat and stories.

If your business can be replaced by a checkbox on someone's application.. that's on you. Copycats are always playing catch-up. I don't see the threat to businesses that actually innovate.
