I doubt there's much correlation between good writers and successful founders. There's a very high correlation between clear thinkers and successful founders. But not all clear thinkers choose to write, and you can't be good at writing (or much else) without practicing a lot.
But any founder who's a programmer has definitely learned the concept of putting ideas on trial.

Complete anecdata, but the programmers I know are all good writers. Specifically, there's no fluff, all very clear, and unpretentious. Writing helps me think clearly. Are there other ways to improve clear thinking?
