Innovative products encode accidental yet path dependent design decisions. Copycats clone those too. And it’s so weird to see. Genuine innovation on the other hand arrives at radically different designs even when having the same starting point.
It's the weirdest feeling, isn't it, when you see someone has copied something you'd been meaning to change, and just hadn't gotten around to it yet?
