Politicians call Bezos greedy for having $x billion. But he didn't do this by taking more Amazon shares. He did it by growing revenues and thus the share price. So if he'd opted not to build AWS, that would have been the more moral choice, because then he'd have been less greedy?
I agree Bezos would be greedy if he kept all this money and never donated any of it to charities. But that's not what the politicians are saying. They're saying it's greedy even to have made it. And if so, he definitely compounded his sins by starting AWS.

I think this is a straw man and broad generalization, the main issues are the union busting and taxes paid; a vocal minority being labeled as “politicians” seems intentionally misleading

100%. Bezos gives value to consumers with lowest prices. The size of pie on value creation distibuted to customers vs employees vs owners is very skewed toward customers, as opposed to other companies like big banks. Our best people don’t choose to go into politics and it shows..
Zero-sum thinking rules everything. Most people don't have firsthand experience building anything these days (we regulated away the ability of middle-class people to easily expand their own homes) so the assumption is he "grabbed" those extra billions.
I haven’t seen any politicians say he’s greedy for making $$. I’ve seen politicians’ concerns of the treatment of workers and taxes
