When an organization is maintaining a blacklist, it's not a sufficient defense for them to claim "It's safe for *us* to maintain a blacklist. No one innocent could end up on it, because we're always right." Every organization running a blacklist has claimed that.

You're never going to convince someone who already decided it's safe for them to have a blacklist that they can't trust themselves. What I think you can do is ask if they can they trust their successor to have the list after them?

So you main problem with blacklists is that someone might be on the list by mistake? If there are no mistakes on a blacklist would you then be in favor of them? How about being against blacklists bc you value open discourse?

Also, maintaining a perfect blacklist is, in essence, an 'i want to build a perfect discriminator' problem. If you can solve it perfectly, you can just as easily keep a whitelist (in fact you dont NEED a list as you have a (perfect) RULE) That they don't, shows they can't.

This is why Trump should not be banned from Twitter. Politics aside, its a very bad precedent.

Also, people change and a list essentially means that you have red line under your name. Doesn't matter you changed, old records show that you were a baddie so off with your head...
