Some questions I am interested in

Why do you care about biodiversity?
What does it mean to you?
Why do you think it is important?

There are often species-unique genes that can help with the design of our own species. Biodiversity means a wider range of these pre-built mechanisms we can study and appropriate. (e.g. why are some jellyfish able to live forever? how does hibernation affect metabolic rate?)

Should we preserve species if there are very few individuals left? Maybe by introducing more organisms, we could disturb the new equilibrium.
