People in Silicon Valley are predominantly on the left. The few exceptions are either celebrities on that account or keep very quiet about it.

I wonder if it is fair to say they are probably on the left because (for the most part) they trend younger, they trend university educated and non-rural, and they trend ‘not having really thought this all the way through.’

It's the same in Israel and Tel Aviv. Mostly left, though libertarianism is going strong. Amongst the left, not in contrast to them.
