Every time the topic of scaling YC comes up, people complain about the fact that it "dilutes the prestige." But prestige is the wrong thing to measure. Value creation is what should be measured.

Funding more startups only dilutes the prestige of YC if it's done by lowering the standard of startup YC funds. And that's not happening. If anything I worry they're too picky.

Yeah, I should have added that I don't believe that the prestige is diluted (and people have been claiming it's being diluted for at least the past 11 years).

I think people first started saying YC had gotten too big around 2010, so yeah, 11 years.

The other thing people say every year, without fail, is that the companies' valuations are too high. Which, if you think about it, is the antiparticle of the claim that YC has gotten too big.
