@paulg Hey Paul, I recently read your “why to not not start a startup” essay and the “family to support” reason stood out to me. You mentioned you wouldn’t advise someone with a family to start a start-up but youd advise 22 year olds to, because they’d still have tech jobs (1/3)

waiting for them if they failed. Im 23, a single father with a 3 year old, & have been coding since 16 (began because I like(d) to build interesting things & want(ed) to start a startup). I’ve worked at a startup for a year as developer, and looking to launch my own soon. (2/3)

Do you still think parents shouldn’t start a startup even if they‘re in their early 20s & instead do what you suggested in the essay ”if you have a family and want to start a startup, start a consulting business you can then gradually turn into a product business.”? (3/3)
