    The base state of programming is gluing together library calls. Since glue code can be written in any language, most programmers' language preferences are really library preferences.

        This is part of why NPM made Node so popular, in addition to the fact that JavaScript already had an entrenched front-end userbase.

        I think the quality of glue code is also important. It had a key role in Python's success.
