I would probably worry more about general AI if I had any idea what its effects would be, but it's hard to worry about something unimaginable. Unimaginable and inevitable is a pretty weird combination.

It's a lot like sitting in 1985 with a 8086 in your hand, and imagining 2021. Even if you predict billions of constantly connected smartphones, working out what that means for society would be quite the challenge. This was a time when "a PC on every desk" was a grand vision.
