True, but using the term addiction is intended to be negative and is yet another example of more panics in advances in technology, much like the moral panics about media in general from Plato & writing to the printing press, telegraph, telephone, radio, TV, internet.

Media uses negative headlines for high rating. I must been a 46 year old teen then as I prefer texting over talking. No addiction what so ever and have positive reasons to why I prefer this way of communication, but negative dramatic messages bring more readers.
