Never underestimate how little history or math people understand. The latter isn't super dangerous except when they need to reason statistically, but the former accounts for a lot of people's strongest political opinions.

As far as math goes, a lack of understanding of exponential growth has caused some problems over the past year.

This is very true. Noticed in real time in despair while lots of seemingly smart people (including many famous local
investors, which make a living from exponentials) were dismissing the virus since "we are ok, traffic accidents, choking or the Flu kill much more"
