It's always a great means of strengthening debate skills.
The reason I so often defend unpopular ideas is not that those are the only kind I like. It's because popular ideas don't need defending.

I know what you mean. I don't know if defending them, but it is good at least not to attack unpopular ideas right away and put some thoughts on them.

Does it work? Sometimes I feel it’s like child reverse psychology, the more one defends unpopular ideas the more the “virtuous” will oppose you. People don’t think anymore.

Twitter is a battlefield. Brandishing a sword here will attract challengers. The ones who agree largely remain silent.

At what point are you just defending those ideas for the sake of defending them? Are there other things to consider beyond their unpopularity?
